The afternoon sun cathces Northern Pacific train No. 7, the westbound "Mainstreeter," reflecting off the Clark Fork River near Thompson Falls, Montana in the summer of 1968. although the "Mainstreeter" is a secondary train to the Vista-Dome "North Coast Limited," it still includes a buffet-lounge and a Budd Slumbercoach in its consist. When the Burlington Northern was formed, the "Mainstreeter" was changed to numbers 29 and 30 so as not to conflict witht he "Denver Zephyr" which was also renumberd 1 and 2. EMD F-9 diesel units 6700A and 6700B became numbers 9800 and 9801 on the Burlington Northern. BN 9800 was later renumberd BN-1.
