Today I had the opportunity to attend a presentation by member David Umhauer  on the history of the M&I branch of the Northern Pacific (Northern  Minnesota) before the Beltrami County Historical Assn. Dave is co-author of  the book "Mike and Ike and Morningtown" which should be available thru the  company store. It's a good read and I recommend it to anyone interested in the history of early Minnesota railroads.  References, literature, history, Minnesota, M & I branch, Umhauer Compiler  C Frissell
